Baroque Odyseey BREZZA programm

The word "Odyssey" evokes a long and adventurous journey, ful of challenges and exciting experiences. The term is taken- as is known- from the title of Homer's epic work that recounts the adventures and trials that Odysseus - Ulysses - must endure to return to his homeland - Ithaca - after the Trojan War. Thus, "Odyssey" is also used to designate any journey or adventure that entails a long journey filled with extraordinary events and personal changes.

Some of the selected works have a common theme: they speak about "follia" (madness), dispersion, moods, or nocturnal feelings. Others are more abstract, drawing inspiration from folk songs or dance forms.

We invite you on an exciting musical journey through the fascinating Baroque era, where music was - and is - the ultimate expression of emotion and creativity. In our program, we present some masterpieces by Georg Philipp Telemann and Antonio Vivaldi, who were among the most influential composers of that time.

We explore compositions that showcase the versatility and brilliance of their creators: from lively dances to musical reflections, each piece reveals a unique facet of the Baroque.

Join us on this musical odyssey, where we will sail through timeless melodies and harmonies created by the luminaries of their time, both by composers whose names endure to this day and by those relatively lesser-known representatives in their field, such as Uccellini or Merula. Immerse yourself in the passion, elegance, and virtuosity of a period that continues to fascinate listeners worldwide. We hope you enjoy this unique and enriching experience!
